Each year recently we have been privileged to welcome adults into out parish family, usually at Easter as a part of our celebration of Christ's glorious resurrection on Holy Saturday night. These may include some who are discovering Jesus Christ in their lives for the first time and some who are already baptised into another Christian denomination but feel, of entirely their own freewill, that they are called to continue their faith journey as part of the Catholic Church.

The programme for preparation is called the "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults" or "RCIA". Anyone interested in this programme should speak firstly to the Parish Priest, (without any obligation). You will not be pressured in any way or at any stage. The programme, should you choose to begin it, is a journey of discovery and discernment and you will be encouraged to discover for yourself whether God is calling you into his Church at this moment or not. Should you choose to leave the programme or take a break until later, we will always respect your choice. This Faith journey is, after all, your own.

For the purpose of this programme "adults" are considered to include young people over the age of 14, though of anyone below 18 would join with parental support and, of course, safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is always at the heart of our mission.

An application form, (once again stressing without obligation) can be found to the right of this page (or beneath the article on a mobile device) if you would like to express an interest in this programme and, once you have submitted the form, a member of our team will be in touch with you. As with all of our Sacramental Programmes, the most important feature is a sense of belonging. Do, please, come along regularly to Mass on Saturday evenings or Sundays and make yourself know to the priest, who will be able to point out to you other people who have knowledge of the programme and will happily accompany you on your journey. We look forward to seeing you!
